Teachers at SAS
Al Shola American School’s (SAS) first priority is to employ native English-speaking teachers. Many of these teachers are from the USA and Canada. Near native English teachers must be IELTS or TOEFL certified.
SAS Curriculum
The Al Shola American School (SAS) uses a traditional KG-12 USA Common Core of Academics. The school follows US Common Core and North Carolina State Standards This western curriculum is combined with current and emerging technologies. All instructional/learning resources align with the USA Common Core. This type of education prepares each student for living and working internationally.
SAS Technologies
SAS uses current and emerging technology throughout the entire school. KG to Grade 12 classes use Projection TVs as well as overhead projection panels and interactive smart boards. All our teachers are trained and certified in E-Learning. We have also included Tablets and I-pads for easy 21st century learning and individual participation by the student. SAS has also integrated STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) into daily instruction.
Philosophy of Education
SAS believes in a TEAM approach (community, board, administration, teachers and students) providing and improving education for all students so they can live and work successfully in this century. With an enriched American curriculum, we promote student achievement while encouraging integrity and strive to enhance their desire to learn.
About Us
Our Services (And Benefits)
We, at SAS, believe that the main role of our administrative staff and teaching faculty is to serve students by creating an exceptional, pleasant and respectful environment that will stimulate the learning process. This creates a safe and orderly school, where students can learn effectively. We believe that guidelines and proper regulations regarding students’ behavior must exist. These regulations should be respected and adhered to by all students and parents alike. Students’ success depends largely on adherence to these regulations. Students are encouraged to seek assistance from their teachers, advisers, Supervisors or Principal.
